Target demographics: Low to very-low income individuals and individuals without any income living with HIV/AIDS of all ages, race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation within Fort Worth, the greater Tarrant County area and seven surrounding rural counitesĭirect beneficiaries per year: 1,740 during FY 2011 AIDS Alabama focuses on housing, policy and advocacy, supportive services, HIV/STI prevention and education, as well as free and confidential HIV/STI. We anticipate that the clinic will open early summer 2012 and serve between 400-600 patients during its first year of operations. The new center will be named, The Magic Johnson Healthcare Clinic at AOC. Annually, 42 staff members provide services and education to over 2,000 people living with HIV and prevention services to over 3,500 people in our community. AIDS Outreach Center (AOC) uses outreach, prevention, and community information programs to educate the public about HIV prevention while offering free and/or low-cost services and testing to HIV+ individuals and their families. Since that time, AOC has been a leader in North Texas in the fight against HIV. Results: We have entered into partnership with AIDS Healthcare Foundation and the Magic Johnson Foundation to open an onsite community healthcare clinic and pharmacy designed for people living with HIV/AIDS regardless of their ability to pay. In 1986, AIDS Outreach Center (AOC) began as a grassroots organization responding to the HIV epidemic. Mission: AIDS Outreach Center is the only 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization in Fort Worth serving Tarrant and seven surrounding rural counites providing essential HIV prevention, education and outreach programs, as well as comprehensive and vital direct HIV/AIDS care and support services to men, women and children and their families, while advocating for a strong HIV public policy.
